| How long does it take for a scar to be removed?
|

| How does laser treatment work on hypertrophic scars/keloids?
|
|
|
Keloids/hypertrophic scars can be flattened by lasers, and it is also effective in relieving itchiness. Cynosure Elite IQ long-pulse 1064 nm Nd: YAG laser treatment reduces the vascularity of keloids/hypertrophic scars. The reduction in vascularity may, in turn, decrease cytokine or growth factor levels in the tissue, which then promote collagen deposits. Laser therapy is delivered over several sessions with 4 to 8 weeks between sessions. Our doctors may recommend combining laser therapy with other treatment methods to achieve long-lasting results.
